Each piece of wood is individually selected, steamed to enhance stability, and finished with a matte, water-resistant lacquer that feels smooth to the touch. The armrests are gently tapered and splayed at a 12-degree angle – a signature mid-century detail that also improves sitting posture. The seat and back cushions are generously filled with a multilayered system: a core of high-resilience polyurethane foam (35 kg/m³ density), surrounded by a 2 cm layer of gel-infused memory foam for pressure relief, and finally wrapped in a plush polyester batting. The upholstery is a premium velvet fabric (85% polyester, 15% nylon) that resists pilling and has a Martindale rub count of over 50,000 cycles, suitable for heavy daily use. The velvet is treated with a stain-repellent finish (C6 fluorocarbon, safe for home use). Brass leg caps and a matching brass plaque under the seat add a touch of luxury.
