The five-star base is crafted from solid ash wood (Fraxinus excelsior) with a clear, matte lacquer finish that highlights the wood’s pronounced grain rings. Ash is exceptionally hard and shock-resistant, making it ideal for a mobile base. Each leg of the base is reinforced with a hidden steel plate and terminates in a 60 mm dual-wheel caster that rolls smoothly over carpet and hard floors. The pneumatic gas lift is a Class 4 unit with a maximum height adjustment range of 58 cm to 78 cm (from floor to seat top), accommodating users from 160 cm to 200 cm tall. The lift mechanism is activated by a side lever and has been tested to 250,000 cycles. A flip-up foot ring is attached to the gas lift cylinder via a heavy-duty clamp; the ring itself is covered in a rubberized grip tape to prevent slipping, and it folds vertically when you want to tuck the chair under the desk. The seat cushion is generously proportioned: 48 cm wide x 45 cm deep, with a thickness of 11 cm. It is constructed with a cold-cured foam core (45 kg/m³ density) for support, topped with a 3 cm layer of gel-infused memory foam for pressure point relief. The upholstery is a commercial-grade black faux leather (PVC-free, polyester-based) with a Martindale rating of 80,000 cycles. The backrest is height-adjustable (6 cm range) via a friction lock on the back spine, and it is also padded with 6 cm of foam and the same faux leather. The back angle can be locked in any position from upright to 110° recline. Assembly required: the base, seat, back, and gas lift are separate.
